T In The Park 2009

sunday

Another amazing music festival of 2009. Coverages from BB3 through out the past weekend. If you missed any performances, catch up here.

T in the Park is a major music festival that has been held annually in Scotland since 1994. It is named after its main sponsor, the brewing company Tennents. It was originally held at Strathclyde Park, but since 1997 has been held at a disused airfield in Balado, in Perth and KinrossScotland. T in the Park was originally a two-day festival but since 2007 has taken place over three days, and introduced in 2008 was the chance to upgrade a weekend camping ticket to allow camping access on the Thursday – the day before any musicians performed. The festival is promoted by Big Day Out. It takes place on the same weekend as Oxegen in Ireland and shares a very similar line-up each year.

As well as the main seven stages of music, there are large camping areas to cater for the majority of festival-goers who stay for the duration of the event. There are also various concession stalls and shops provided, as well as other attractions, such as a large funfair, complete with Big Wheel.

Glastonbury 2009

2626818532_625a378b83

I had a chance to go to Glastonbury this year with my friends but I decided not to go as I’m currently recovering from my on going injury, which lasted for six months. After watching coverage of Glastonbury on BBC 3, all I can say is I’m extremely gutted that I’m not there and to experience the atmosphere. I have my mates ringing me everyday, telling me what they got up to on the day. So If you got the opportunity to go! Don’t decline it!

During recent months browsing through the web, searching for new talents. I’ve come across many emerging designers all coming from Lincoln School of Art and Design. As they are competitors to mine as we both graduate the same year, I do appreciate their work as inspirational, such as Tom Lovell and David Marsh

I Love BeckyCam!

beckycam

Last year ‘Radio 1’ introduced augmented reality to the big weekend to interact with the listeners who missed out going to Maidstone. This year in Swindon they have ‘BeckyCam’! BeckyCam is a feature on ‘The Scott Mills Show’ where they show and communicate with the listeners.

This is a cool way to see live coverage from areas of the event and see some backstage action. Other than this feature it’s the usual updated post from all the DJs and unmissable performances on the web and on television.

My attempt of the University of Wales, Newport ‘Graduation 2008’ Poster. This was a competition for the second year graphic design students as part of our semester set projects.  The theme is sustainability. The whole idea for my poster design is when you see the graduation poster on the floor, why waste it and just stick it back on the wall or leave it as a piece of design.
